Physicians:

David A. Van, M.D., F.A.A.F.P.
Dr. David Van, a board-certified family physician, is the founder and medical director of McIntosh Trail Family Practice Associates. Since 1985, Dr. Van has seen his practice grow into one of the largest family practices in metropolitan Atlanta. He attributes his practice's success to its solid reputation as a provider of compassionate and quality health care, and his deep commitment to treating other families as he would treat his own.

A native of New Orleans, Dr. Van attended Jesuit High School, graduating with honors. He is a Phi Kappa Phi and honor graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and an honor graduate of Louisiana State University Medical School, where he was elected to the Aesculapian Honor Society. After attending medical school, he continued his specialty training in family practice at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical College of Virginia.

Dr. Van has twice been selected as a 'top doctor' in Spalding County, and has also been voted one of America's 'top family doctors' for 2002-2003 by the National Consumer Research Council. He has received teaching awards for his dedicated training of medical students and physician assistants. In addition, Dr. Van has received many academic honors, including the following:

Dr. Van is part of a group of individuals who founded the Hope Health Clinic, a volunteer medical clinic serving the needy in Spalding County. He has traveled to South America as part of a medical mission, and he also lends his support to medical missions in other parts of the world. He generously gives back to his local community through service in the Daybreak Rotary Club.

Dr. Van and his wife, Vicki C. Van, M.D., have two children, David and Lauren, ages 15 and 10. During his free time, Dr. Van enjoys playing golf, outdoor water sports, and family activities.


Vicki C. Van, M.D.

Dr. Vicki Van was born and raised in Tidewater, Virginia. She received her bachelor of science degree in biology from Virginia Tech, graduating with honors. Following her undergraduate training, she attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, where she received her doctor of medicine degree.

After completing medical school, Dr. Van served her internship and residency at the obstetrics and gynecology department of Riverside Hospital in Newport News, Virginia. During her residency, she met her future husband and practice associate, Dr. David Van. In 1987, they moved to Griffin, Georgia, and founded McIntosh Trail Family Practice Associates.

Dr. Van has trained with the renowned Beverly Hills, California, dermatologist Dr. Obagi, who developed the medically proven skin repair and rejuvenation system that is the basis for the world-famous Obagi Nuderm System and Obagi Blue Peel.

She is certified to administer Botox for skin restoration, as well as being certified to treat patients using intense pulsed laser (IPL), radio frequency, and microdermabrasion, techniques useful in restoring healthy skin by improving or eliminating the effects of common skin disorders that result from environmental damage, exposure to sunlight, and the natural aging process.

In 2001, McIntosh Trail Family Practice Associates developed a skin care division, La Maison Derm Esthetics, which is dedicated to the development of healthy, beautiful skin.


Jim W. Latimer, M.D., F.A.A.F.P.

Dr. Jim Latimer received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville and completed his family practice residency training at the McLennan County Medical Education and Research Foundation in Texas. He grew up locally, attending Stockbridge High School and earning his bachelor of science degree in applied physics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Latimer is also a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and former faculty member of the Georgia Baptist Family Practice Residency Program in Morrow, Georgia, where he taught the subject of family practice.

Dr. Latimer and his wife, Sharon, live in Stockbridge. He enjoys snow skiing, traveling, landscape gardening, photography, and working with computers. The couple enjoys spending time with their two young children, Sarah Kate and Rebekah.


Jerry W. Bush, M.D.

Dr. Bush is a Board Certified Internal Medicine physician with over 20 years experience in caring for patients. Dr. Bush is originally from Alabama, having graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and the Auburn University School of Pharmacy in Auburn, where he received the President's Award as the number one graduate for the year.

Dr. Bush has been married to the former Wanda Scrivener of Pensacola, Florida for 25 years. They have four sons-Andrew, Jordan, David and Taylor. Dr. Bush is active in the Pomona United Methodist Church in Griffin. Dr. Bush and his family first moved to Griffin in 1998.

Dr. Bush has experience in all aspects of internal medicine and general family medicine. He has special expertise in the prescribing of medications, having been deemed an expert in the field of medical pharmacology by state and federal courts.


Mid-Level Providers:


John Mark Lidell, PA-C

John Mark Lidell earned his bachelor's degree in biology from Kennesaw State College in Kennesaw, Georgia, in 1991 after returning from U.S. Army Reserve duty during Desert Storm. His medical training as a physician assistant and a master's of medical science degree was completed at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1996.

Board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), John Mark is also a fellow of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA). He has worked in a variety of private sector family practices and governmental medical facilities, and most currently he serves in the Georgia Army National Guard State Medical Command at Fort Gillem, Georgia.

John Mark is an associate provider in family practice and urgent care who firmly believes in the health care team approach to patient treatment. His patient care plans include extensive patient education and patient inclusion in the medical decision- making process for all of his patients.


James B. Conley, PA

James Conley is an Atlanta area native raised in College Park. He attended Columbus State University where he attained his Bachelors Degree of Science in Biology with a concentration in medicine. After and during his time at Columbus State James worked in the operating room for 3 years as an operating room assistant at Egleston Children's Hospital of Atlanta.. He then attended the prestigious University of Florida to earn a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies. He has since returned to the Atlanta area to practice primary care medicine.

As a board certified physician assistant he is a member of Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, and American Academy of Physicians Assistant. In his spare time James enjoys time with his family who live in the Atlanta area, recreational sports and watching football.

Laura M. Trice, FNP
Laura Laura Trice, MSN, NP-C, earned her bachelor's degree in 1988 and her master's degree in nursing in 1996 from Georgia College and State University. She has more than 20 years' experience in nursing, 14 years' experience in critical care nursing, and for the past seven years she has been a family nurse practitioner.

Over the years, Laura has served as adjunct faculty preceptor for Gordon College, Georgia State University, and Georgia College and State University. She is past president of the Lamar County Chapter of the American Heart Association from 1997-1998.

Laura is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is currently a member of that same professional organization.


Millie R. Stull, NP-C

Millie Stull, MSN, NP-C, moved to Georgia from Ohio as a young RN in 1974. She began her career at Southern Regional Medical Center. She received her Bachelor's Degree from Clayton State College and University in 1990 and her Master's of Science Degree as a family nurse practitioner from North Georgia College and State University in 2001. She has more than thirty-years experience in nursing, including IV therapy, oncology, intensive care, pediatrics and administration. She served in the Army Nurse Corp. (Reserves) at Fort Benning for fourteen-years, resigning her commission as a Major (c) in 2002.

As a board-certified family nurse practitioner, Millie is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, United Advance Practice Registered Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing.

Millie Stull, NP-C and her husband have four children and nine grandchildren and live in the Griffin area.


Wendy Walton, FNP

Wendy Walton is a resident of Stockbridge, Georgia. She obtained her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from Clayton State University. She has over 13 years of nursing experience. Wendy worked at Grady Health System for 10 years and Emory University for 3 years. Wendy is certified in Medical Surgical Nursing. She received her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Georgia State University in May, 2005. She is board certified by Georgia Board of Nursing and American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Wendy is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, Georgia Nurses Association and Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority.
